Vim registers and "." procedure

‘*’ procedure

In normal mode when cursor on a word press:

1. ‘*’ to find all words in the buffer
2. ‘ciw’ to replace the word
3. ESC to enter normal mode
4. ’n’ to find next occurance of the word
5. ‘.’ to repeat that operation

Pasting from registers

In normal mode:

1. ‘:reg’ to list register contents
2. ‘“3p’ to paste in normal mode contents of 3rd register

Yanking to registers

To yank to a specific register:

1. visually highlight word/line/lines
2. ‘“3y’ to yank it to the 3rd register
